Explanation of last post…

Okay so obviously everyone is busy…and so was I…which is why I’m JUST NOW explaining my last post….they’re not in chronological order, really….

So….dog park “swim”………..Lucas and I went to the dog park today with Michelle and her dog Jake. It’s the one off clay road and hwy 6…I’d never been there before…but it was really nice! I just put my camera, phone, and car key in my pocket so I didn’t have to carry  my purse. Smart, huh?! Anyways…there’s this little “lake” that the dogs like to go in…and pee in….and catch balls in. Going into the pond is this cement border…it’s slanted into the pond straight from the grass. The water is blue…like dyed blue…like it looks like it’d stain you if you got in. And there’s fish and turtles in it…basically, gross. As we all know (well now you know), Lucas is obsessed with water…agua…”ooo-ah”….so he naturally wanted to go touch the water, but I wouldn’t let him. Michelle pointed out a turtle on the other side of the pond, so we were going to walk around to the other side and show it to Lucas. But on the way over, as Michelle was trying to control Jake (what a joke, haha without Adam, Jake listens to squat. We learned that), Lucas decided he would touch the water whether I wanted him to or not. So I turn around and Lucas is in the lake….submerged underwater…so naturally I FREAK and go in after him…I’m walking into the pond on the cement thing…and once I hit the water I slip. ALGAE. GROSS. But I grabbed Lucas and held him up, and then tried to gain my balance because the bottom was so slippery! It was much deeper than it looked! It was up to my bellybutton, basically! So I handed Lucas to Michelle, bracing myself on the cement with my knee…it’s so slippery! It took me like 10 seconds to get out…I know it’s a short time…but it was a long time! When I do, Lucas is freaking out, naturally. He’s SOAKED. And so am I. With gross water. I have Michelle take my phone, camera, and keys out of my pocket…by some miracle, my key still worked, my camera still worked, and my phone WASN’T EVEN WET!!! I love small miracles. I love the Lord. So I’m conforting Lucas, trying to decide what to do….I have a change of clothes for him in the car, as usual, but we’d only been at the park for THREE MINUTES, so I decided that we’d dry off in the sun and change when we left. Naturally, Lucas fell quite a few times while we were there, and because he was wet, the dirt stuck to him…all over. And this boy is a clean freak like you don’t even know…he was quite disturbed by all the dirt on his clothes. BUT there were dogs there and that seemed to distract him for quite some time! We were there for about an hour, then we went to Luke’s house and changed him…and then went to my house and I changed….here’s some pics from the dog park…

This is us all wet…and that’s the gross pond behind us…

This is Lukie all dirty…

This is me, Luke, and Jake…

And here we have Michelle giving Jake a bath before we leave…

And this is Luke and I watching Michelle give Jake a bath before we leave…

OKAY now on to the next explanation…

So….”your breath smells like meat”……that night, I was at institute. It was our last day, and Brother Strader brought pizza rolls for dinner! Apparently at Double Daves, the pizza rolls are 75 cents each on Tuesdays! YUM! So anways, I was thirsty…so I went into the hallway to get a drink of water….and I saw my brother Tanner! Nobody was around, so I knew I wouldn’t embarrass him if I make a big deal of it…so I hugged him real tight and told him I loved him and gave him a big kiss and told him that I missed him so much! And then he said “your breath smells like meat”, so I said “that’s because I just ate meat. We had pizza rolls”, to which he responded…in a low voice…”i just ate a baby”……to which I laughed and told him I missed him more!

So….Michelle changed at institite…but not really……so here’s what happened. I walked in (on the last day of class), and said hi, and Michelle had changed drastically! Michelle and I always sit in the same spots (oh, we’re talking about Michelle Cue…not Michelle Bonneaux), and in her spot was a completely different person! I was incredibly confused until I realized it was a new person…it’s funny that a new person would show up on the LAST DAY of institute…but she turned out to not be Michelle, lol. I think her name was Stephanie…but I could be wrong…I probably am…but she was really nice, I liked her!

So…Siobhan dress at mall………Michelle (Bonneaux), Eryn (Michelle’s sister), Michael (Eryn’s baby), Lucas, and I went to Memorial City mall to find some new clothes for Michelle. While were at Forever XXI, I FREAKED because in the clearance section was Siobhan’s dress! One of the dresses she wore a few weeks ago on American Idol! She’d bought it at Forver XXI and I could look just like her for only $9.99 plus tax! So of course I had to try it on…the largest size they had was one size smaller than my size, but I had to try it on just to see……….

Here’s Siobhan….

And here’s me….

Except for the fact that I have my pants on underneath…….MATCHY MATCHY! But it was too small…I was quite uncomfortable in that dress…and they didn’t have my size…my dream was about to come true and then it was SMASHED. But I was still so happy!

So……Lucas and Michael best buddies……they are so cute together! We push their strollers side-by-side and they are always reaching at eachother and sharing toys and it’s so cute!

Lukie kept kissing Michael’s arm…so cute!!!!!!!

So…..Bobby at mall…….When I worked at Build-A-Bear at Willowbrook Mall, one of my managers was Bobby…and we’re great friends now! Anyways, while we were at the mall (Memorial City Mall, remember?), we were walking by Build-A-Bear, and I was pretty confused…I saw Bobby working…….so I went in and said hi….it was so weird that he was at a different one! It turns out he’s working for someone who’s out for a while….but it was just so odd to see him at a different Build-A-Bear!!!

So…..t-shirts…… the girls and I made our t-shirts! Mine said “I (heart) Siobhan Magnus” (like the I (heart) NY t-shirts)…and on the back it has a picture of Siobhan….it’s the picture I put in this post earlier about the dress…Clara’s says the same thing on the front, but she didn’t want a picture on the back….and Lukie’s is the same as mine, but on the back, his also says “Ask me what Siobhan says!”…because if you ask him what Siobhan says…he screams like her…I taught him well..!! Natalie made one that said “I (heart) Crystal Bowersox” and had a picture of Crystal on the back…Natalie also made one for her friend Hanaa that said the same thing, but had a different picture of Crystal  the back….THEY’RE SUCH AWESOME SHIRTS!!!

So……studying for biology…I studied for biology MORE today.

So…..battle wounds……..I got home from institute at about 9:30 and I FINALLY had the opportunity to shower and get all that nasty pond stuff off myself! But I discovered something….battle wounds! On my left knee (the one I used to hoist myself out of the pond, since it was so slippery), I had owies. And they stung when they were wet! I don’t know how I didn’t notice them earlier, but I’m glad that they didn’t hurt all day! And all down my leg was scratches and red bumps from when I dragged myself out….how nice. The owies on my knee still hurt…I can’t kneel down on my left knee…or it KILLS!!!

So… for american idol…..I had Danielle text me the number to call to vote for Siobhan….because I WANNA VOTE FOR MY HERO SIOBHAN! So right after institute, I called. A lot. I just kept the phone in my hand and dialed and hung up and then pushed redial, etc. When I got home, I looked up the number to call for Cyrstal (she’s my second hero =D), and I started calling back-and-forth for both of them. I couldn’t call while I was in the shower, of course…so I lost some valuable votes there…but I was faithful! I counted later…I had voted 30 times for Siobhan and 19 times for Crystal…….it felt like to many more, though!

Chelsea’s Wedding

Congrats Chelsea!

Chelsea’s wedding was incredibly beautiful. It was the PERFECT day for an outdoor wedding.

While we were at the table, Frances found a new best friend..they were very close….it was a little ladybug…and I felt left out so I got made a rock be my friend. =)

I want everyone to wear Converse to my wedding also…

There was a very nice lady at the table with us…..there was a funny part of the conversation….she asked why so many people had “those shoes on” so we told her you were supposed to wear Converse. On the invitation, it said “bring your Converse”…when we explained that…she was like “Oh! I thought it meant bring your CONVERSATION!” lol it was great…

There were two disposable cameras at each table…each camera had about 35 pictures! So since that was A LOT of pictures…Frances and I went around the place and took lots of pics of ourselves….on Chelsea’s disposable cameras AND on my camera!

Frances and I got married to eachother at one point..

There were bubbles that you were supposed to blow on the bride…so I did that quite a bit…it was a lot of fun! I was like the only one doing it, though =( oh well! It was fun! And Chelsea seemed to enjoy it!

Chelsea got Frances to hold her half-eaten strawberry…
And then I ate some of it…
And then gave her the rest…
And she ate the rest of it…

I made Mrs. Karen dance…..she secretly loved it…

My Chel-c-ann-grace Trlica is now Chel-c-ann-grace Herrington!

James and the Giant Peach

Today started out normal enough….Lucas actually went down for his nap a bit early, though! And since I was caught up with my homework, I decided I deserved a nap also. But then Danielle comes downstairs and tells me she’s going to pick up the girls from school because their water isn’t working and it won’t be back on for a couple of hours, apparently….so she gets back with the girls at about 11:20. And they ate lunch. And then Lucas woke up. So he ate with us. And then Ellen Degeneres was on (Lucas and I watch it every day), so the girls watched it with us today.

Then we watched James and the Giant Peach! Clara got the book from the library a few weeks ago AND SHE FELL IN LOVE! When I told  here there was a movie, she FREAKED! So we checked it out from the library also, and we watched it today. I hadn’t seen it since I was about her age, so I had forgotten most of it. It was awesome! I could tell that Clara was having the time of her life!

We decided we’re going to make our own giant peach. Not as big as James’s peach..but bigger than a regular one! We’re going to make it as big as we can, and we’re going to paint it like a peach, and use popsicle sticks for the gate that was stuck on the side of the peach…and we want to make it fuzzy like a peach…so we’re trying to think of the best way to do that. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Last week, I decided I wanted to make an “I LOVE SIOBHAN MAGNUS” shirt. So I am. The girls want one, too. But Natalie’s will be for Crystal Bowersox (who is also amazing!). So we went to Hobby Lobby today and got some supplies for our giant peach, and some supplies for our t-shirts.

It was a good day all around.

OH and Sarah Nicholas and I want to go on another date so bad…..and we finally found a day! Saturday, May 15th. Now, let’s just pray that nothing comes up…..*crosses fingers*

OH and another thing…i posted an old pic of Luke and I finger painting on facebook the other day…and one thing led to another…and Lauren Sears wants to finger paint with us. So that’ll be happening NEXT Thursday. I’m so excited! I’m thinking we’ll get cheap white flat bed sheets and put them up on the fence out back…and go for it. YES. We’ll see! Either way, it’ll be fun…because Natalie is involved…and Lucas is involved….and I’m involved…and Clara is involved….and now LAUREN SEARS is involved……we’ll have a blast!

Youth Conference

This weekend was incredibly busy and incredibly amazing! I got to be a group leader at Youth Conference. The theme was “Operation Destination: Your Time Is Now”. There was about 10 people in each group.

Friday’s activities:
—Service project – they made keychains, necklaces, etc. for a boy scout day camp
—Dinner (there was like 100 Papa John’s pizza boxes, no joke)
—Silent Movies – each group was given a topic and a box of props to create a silent movie. My group’s topic was The Good Samaritan. The group leader (me) was the filmer. They decided to make it modern…so they had someone getting mugged and then nobody would help her as she lay on the ground injured, and the mugger ended up being the one to come help her in the end.

—Dance. Of course there was a stake dance! I was a chaperone…it was great fun! Well, if you call sitting around fun..but I got to talk to people so that was the fun part!

I got home around midnight on Friday….and went straight to bed.

Saturday I had to be at the church at 6:30. We were all meeting there from our ward and carpooling up there because of limited parking. (The event was at someone’s property in Tomball) I ended up just taking KayeLynn with me…she’s such a sweetheart. I love her!

Saturday’s activities:
—Grafitti Wall – There was a fence set up around a bunch of branches and wood….and a ton of spray paint cans. “righteous grafitti” was all over the fence by the time they were done…it looked awesome.
—Breakfast – they had kolaches, breakfast burritos, and donuts
—the Amazing Race begins! – there were 15 teams, and they had to play just like the show on TV called “The Amazing Race”. The activities were all great. Here’s a brief summary of the stations…
             – Car Push – They had to change a tire on a truck, and then push it to the next station. One person had to steer the truck, and everyone else had to push. There were 4 stations, with different tasks to perform at each station. They had to push the truck to each station, with more people in it each time, which left less people to push it.
-Matching Game – The first person runs from the start and selects a picture, shows it to the team, and then selects another and shows it to the team. If they do not match, they return to the start and the next person does the same thing. There was to be no talking or pointing or anything while someone was on the playing board. They could only collaborate when the playing board was empty, and only one person would be on at once. The “board” was about a 30-foot square area. My team did not so good at the keeping quiet thing…they’d cough, point, have more than one peron on, etc. Needless to say, they lost quite a few points for that.
         – Spider Web – There were ropes tied across trees into a spider-web-looking-contraption. There were 14 streamers tied randomly through out the web. Two people had to go at once and retrieve a streamer. It had to be a boy-girl team and they had to hold hands the whole time. If any part of their body touched a rope, they had to stop and count to five before continuing. They could hop over the ropes, army crawl under them, whatever. As long as they were always in contact with one another and not the ropes. My team did a great job with this one. It was one of their favorites they said.
          – Lake Crossing – each team was given materials to build a raft. They had an hour to complete this station. They had to build a raft, get everyone to the other side, bring everyone back and disassemble their raft in that time.
          – Tire Pull – They had to pull an 18-wheeler tire 100 yards up and 100 yards back. Each team member pulled the tire 10 yards up and 10 yards back. Team members switched every two yards. There were three rounds. For the first round, everyone in the group participated. In the second round, just the boys did it. In the third round, we had to choose two boys to complete it – one to pull it all the way up, and one to pull it all the way back.
          – Puzzle Scavenger Hunt – They were given a list of scripture mastery scriptures with out the references. They were from the Old Testament, Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenants. They also had a set of scriptures to help them. There were plastic easter eggs spread out through a field with references written on them (just the numbers, not the book). Inside the egg was a puzzle piece. They had to find all the eggs for thier puzzle (there were 3 puzzles total) and complete the puzzle. My team didn’t work very well on this together. But I enjoyed watching them work in the rain!
          – Keys and Locks – There was a bucket of keys on one end and down a trail there were two toolboxes that each had a lock – a red one and a black one. Each team member had to choose a key, and, one at a time, run down the trail and see if their key unlocked one of the locks. If it did, they brought it back. Once both locks were open they could continue on.
          – Box Pick – There was a pile of boxes. A BIG PILE. You had to search through the boxes and find two notes that said you could move on. Only one person could be touching a box at a time. You had to open the box, look inside, and then close the box properly before the next person could go. Most of the boxes were empty….only a couple had the notes inside. My group didn’t do a very good job of the whole “close the box” and “only one person at a time” rules…
          – Line Up – they had to line up in a certain order without talking and without moving their mouth. First they had to line up in ABC order by their first name. Then they had to line up in ABC order by their last name. Then they had to line up in ABC order by their favorite food. Then they had to line up in ABC order by their mom’s maiden name. Then they had to line up in numerical order by their shoe size. Then they had to line up by hand size. Then they had to line up in ABC order by their favorite color. Then they had to line up by their birthday (month, day, and year). It was all very entertaining to watch. My group got creative and at one point they took out their cell phones and typed their was great.

After that was all over, we had dinner…hamburgers, chips, and cookies!

Then we had a presentation of awards and such…my group didn’t win anything, but they didn’t seem to mind!

And then once it got dark, we watched the silent movies! They’d been converted to black-and-white/antique/scratchy and had 40’s music playing in the background….it was quite entertaining!

Then we went over to the bonfire and had a testimony meeting. As the fire lit, we were all singing “The Spirit of God Like A Fire Is Burning”. It was the perfect song to be singing then. During the testimony meeting, my brother (Ethan) got up and I absolutely loved hearing his testimony. My “sister” (Sarah Nicholas) also gave her testimony, and I loved hearing hers also.

When it was over, I took KayeLynn home and I went home EXHAUSTED! I got home at about midnight, took a shower, plopped into bed, and slept in on Sunday. It was my week to teach relief society, but I still slept in. I slept in for the first 2 hours, and went for the 3rd hour to teach m y lesson. It turned out quite well! I was able to use experiences from youth conference this weekend in my lesson!

I FINALLY got to go to the Nicholi! It’d been forever! I got there at about 6:15 and the home teachers were there. Gotta love the home teachers! They left at about 6:50 and then Raspbana left a few minutes later to go to a camp meeting. I talked to Sarah about youth conference for a while. I love talking to her. I wish I could talk to my own siblings more often, but because I can’t, I take every opportunity I can to talk to my Nicholas siblings! Anyways, while they ate dinner I started reading the book I’m borrowing from them…The Sea of Monsters. It’s great so far! When they were done, Preston and Evan played more on the Wii and I’m not sure what Sarah did..but I kept reading! It was so good! Just like the first book! When Preston and Evan went to bed Sarah came and wrote her letter to Collin, and we talked more…which is always fun! When Sarah went to bed I left because I was till exhausted from this weekend. I didn’t get to see Raspbana much at all….sad day.

Doctor’s Office

So Luke and I are in the waiting room at the doctor and there was this lady….and here’s our conversation…

Me: I like your pants!
Her: Thanks!
Me: You’re welcome! They look comfortable, too!
Her: They are! I bought them in two colors since they were so great!
Me: That’s great!
Her: I got them in black and these gray ones.
Me: Nice!
Her: Oh and another time I found some shoes that were so cute and SO comfortable, so I bought a black pair and a brown pair.
Me: I love it when that happens!
Her: I got dressed for work one day and I was on my way to work and I stopped to get coffee. I was standing in line and I looked down and I had on my blue slacks and a brown shoe and a black shoe!!
Me: Oh man…!
Her: So I hurried and went home and changed my shoes, it was horrible!
Me: Yeah….

And that was our conversation…please note…I have two different shoes on…as usual…I don’t think she noticed…it was great…

Dirty? HUH?

I’ve learned a lot living with the Schillers these past 2 years…here’s a small tidbit of what I’ve learned:

-dusting is not moving the couch once a year and vacuuming under it
-you are supposed to wipe off the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher so they don’t come out dirty still
-it actually feels good to have a clean bedroom
-making my bed every day makes me feel better sometimes!
-you’re supposed to clean your bathtub/shower more than once a decade (if that)

I’ve learned all that and OH SO MUCH MORE.

It may seem like common sense to you…but it’s things you’re taught…and I just wasn’t taught these things…until I lived with the Schillers. What a blessing.

whoa dang

But instead of making excuses, I’ll just update you.

So I went to the doctor last week to get my montly B-12 shot, and they ended up having to draw my blood, too….and the person that did this to me:

…she thought that the dots on my eyes were tattoos…

needless to say, she was wrong. So I explained to her that it’s just something I like to do. She was a bit confused.

here’s some pics of Lukie from the other day…

And that’s all for now…peace.
